Why me and Overwatch are broken up

I still remember the day I saw her for the first time. November 7th, 2014. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen and from that moment onward I knew that I was going to be with her for the rest of my life. Now, more than three years later, I know that will never happen.

Some people that come into your life influence you more than others. The first person that comes to mind that had a big influence on me was World of Warcraft, so no surprise there that another Blizzard girl got my attention. The second one was League of Legends, but she was really weird and aggressive. Perhaps the most hateful off them all.

At first, I thought Overwatch would be different she would be the girl I could bring with my friends and we could have a great time together, maybe go visit Blizzard World or something. At first this went really great. She met five friends of mine and we all had a great time until one by one all my friends started to walk away. They took other interests and didn’t want to hang out with me and Overwatch anymore. Most of them went back to World of Warcraft, their old love. It made them feel safe and secure I guess.
I stood by Overwatch and was determined to make it work. We went on for months and made some other friends and found some old friends along the way. I even managed an old WoW buddy to join us and we made it to 4100 rating which was amongst the best of my country but after a while he went pro in League of Legends and had to go to Spain, yikes. Rest in pepperoni my buddy Treatz.

I went on alone for a while and saw Overwatch turn to the Dark Side faster than Obi-Wan can say: “Don’t do it Anakin, I have the high ground.” Our relationship became toxic and I couldn’t stand it anymore. Overwatch made me feel bad about myself and she just didn’t make me happy anymore. She was always more fun with friends around and it took me 300 levels in the closed beta and 400 more after that too see it.

It was time to quit the relationship, at least for now. Who knows, maybe in the future our paths will cross again but until that time…
